China, Japan finance ministers likely to talk AIIB at June meeting

THE China-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank is likely to figure large in June talks planned between China's finance minister Lou Jiwei and his Japanese counterpart Taro Aso in Beijing - the first such meeting in three years - opening the way for cooperation on the AIIB between Asia's two major economic powers.

The meeting could provide a face-saving way for Tokyo to exchange views with Beijing on the AIIB without being seen as "climbing down" from its very public stance of declining membership of the institution up to now, analysts said.
