THE buying plunged while the selling among directors was flat based on filings on the Singapore Exchange in the second week of April. A total of 13 companies recorded 28 purchases worth S$1.16 million versus four firms with five disposals worth S$0.12 million. The buy figures were down from the previous week's four-day totals of 16 companies, 34 purchases and S$9.6 million.

On the selling side, the number of firms and trades were consistent with the previous week's three companies and four disposals. The sell value, however, was sharply down from the previous week's sales worth S$2.37 million.

While the buying by directors fell last week, the buyback activity remained high with 15 companies that posted 46 repurchases worth S$29.2 million. The number of firms and trades were not far off from the previous week's 11 companies and 43 transactions while the value was sharply up from the previous week's turnover of S$16.5 million.
