Indonesia Feb inflation cools to 6.29% y/y as fuel costs drop
[JAKARTA] Indonesia's annual inflation in February eased more than expected to 6.29 per cent, due to falling prices of fuel and chillies, the statistics bureau said on Monday.
A Reuters poll of 13 analysts had expected inflation to cool to 6.70 per cent in February, from 6.96 per cent in January.
The consumer price index (CPI), on a monthly basis, fell for the second month at a rate of 0.36 per cent.
Core inflation, which excludes administered prices and volatile food prices, slowed slightly to 4.96 per cent in February from 4.99 per cent the month before.
