Taiwan: Stocks dragged down by techs, banks
[TAIPEI] Taiwan stocks fell 0.7 per cent in mid-morning trading on Thursday, following some other regional bourses and weighed down by losses in technology and financial shares.
As of 0200 GMT, the main TAIEX index was down to 9,632.79, after rising 0.7 per cent in the prior session.
The electronics sub-index shed 0.8 per cent, while the financial sub-index was off 0.4 per cent. These are the two most heavily traded sectors of the market.
The Taiwan dollar was up 0.3 per cent to stand at T$31.429 to the US dollar.
