S$2.5m scheme launched to upskill taxi drivers, raise service standards
Local taxi operators may enjoy subsidies of up to 90% in course fees; drivers to get absentee payroll of S$7.50 per hour

A NEW S$2.52 million training programme to upskill some 4,000 taxi drivers and raise service and safety standards in the taxi industry over the next two years has just been introduced in Singapore.
The programme, which will support local operators in designing a structured, continual training roadmap for taxi drivers, was announced by the Devan Nair Institute of Employment and Employability (e2i) and the National Taxi Association (NTA) on Monday.
