Eyes on last trading day of November

Thursday's relatively quiet session could be followed by a large push as some funds close their books for the year

AFTER Tuesday's spike in volume up to a 2014 high of S$1.8 billion - which came largely thanks to a large, last-minute trade in Suntec Reit - turnover has returned to more recognisable levels with 1.2 billion units worth S$1.02 billion done on Thursday.

Movements in the Straits Times Index have also become more measured - on Thursday, the index traded within a narrow band before ending a nett 8.7 points down at 3,340.96.

Of course, this could change on Friday, the last trading day of the month and for some funds the day they close their books for the year.
