Canvas of the mind's eye

IF there's one rule that photographer Nadav Kander sticks to whenever he travels for work, it's that he doesn't stay longer than two weeks at one location.

"I like to be sensitive to the place while I'm there and the longer you stay there, the less sensitive you get," says the 53-year-old acclaimed photographer, who refers to himself as an artist.

Unlike documentary photographers who can spend months on a single expedition, Kander prefers to make repeated trips so he can review his works in the comfort of his own home before returning to the location with a refreshed perspective.
