Qantas, SriLankan in codeshare pact for S'pore flights
Codesharing pertains to Sri Lanka-Australia services via Changi
[SINGAPORE] Qantas and SriLankan Airlines have inked a new codeshare agreement that will leverage on Singapore as a hub, as the two carriers codeshare on flights between Sri Lanka and Australia via Changi Airport.
From Oct 26, Qantas will codeshare on SriLankan's daily Singapore-Colombo service. This allows passengers to connect within a 2-3 hour window from Qantas-operated international flights to Singapore and onward SriLankan-operated flights to Colombo.
Meanwhile, SriLankan will codeshare on Qantas' daily services between Singapore-Brisbane and Singapore-Melbourne, as well as its twice-daily services to Sydney. The new codeshare service with SriLankan complements Qantas' daily Singapore-Colombo codeshare service operated by its strategic partner, Dubai-based Emirates.
