Their Kallang high point
Own My Grain founders Michelle Tan and her husband have remodelled their 26th floor apartment - from a 'safe' condo to a fuss-free home, with clean lines, and a slight Scandinavian look.
SOME years ago, Michelle Tan and her husband thought they had found their dream home in the Upper Thomson Road area. But after five months living there, they realised that it was not meant to be. "Even though we spent quite a sum on renovations, and the terrace home did look beautiful, somehow we didn't like the area," says Ms Tan. The couple are the founders of Own My Grain, a food retail store that will open in October.
So the couple moved out, lived in a rented apartment in the meantime, because they couldn't find a suitable place. Two years ago, they hit the jackpot - a 26th floor apartment in Kallang.
"Every weekend, we would be driving around checking out apartments in all areas around Singapore. We even visited other units in this development," says Ms Tan. "We finally found the right apartment after a six month search. We stepped in and knew immediately it was the one."
