Earlier CNY period helps lift cargo volumes 3.8%
CHANGI Airport's strong 2013 performance continued into the new year, with passenger traffic increasing 6.3 per cent year on year in January.
The airport handled 4.6 million passengers last month, driven by a "healthy increase in air travel between Singapore and South-east Asia, North-east Asia, Southwest Pacific and the Middle East", said operator Changi Airport Group (CAG) in a statement yesterday.
Air traffic movements were correspondingly higher, with 30,400 takeoffs and landings in January, 7.6 per cent more than a year ago.
