SembMarine bags US$1.08b drillships deal
Contract to build 2 drillships includes options for an additional 3 ships
SEMBCORP Marine (SembMarine) has won US$1.08 billion in contracts to build two drillships for top US-listed driller Transocean Ltd.
It is a significant breakthrough deal with the world's largest offshore drilling contractor and rig owner, which has up to now ordered drillships only from Korea.
The contract also includes options for an additional three such ships.
