The Nightingale (Le promeneur d'oiseau) If you have heard of the film Le Papillon (The Butterfly) - about the friendship between an old man and a little girl, directed by French director Philippe Muyi - you would be interested in Muyi's new film The Nightingale - about an old man and his granddaughter on a journey from Beijing to Yangshuo. One main difference is that The Nightingale is entirely in Mandarin with English subtitles, and has a Chinese cast. The film made its Southeast-Asian premiere at ScreenSingapore 2013 last night, and will be available for public viewing at the Alliance Francaise later this evening.
The Nightingale (Le promeneur d'oiseau) runs at the Alliance Francaise Theatre at 6.30pm tonight. Tickets cost $11. Log on to www.sistic.com.sg for more information and to purchase tickets
