Israel offers China expertise on clean technologies
Economist also sees an opportunity to work with Singapore
[SINGAPORE] Israel is placing great importance on its relationship with China, and like Singapore, the technologically-savvy nation is offering its expertise on clean technologies such as renewable energy and water technologies, a top Israeli economist told The Business Times.
Eugene Kandel, who heads Israel's National Economic Council and advises Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said: "We're trying to set up an ecosystem where we could utilise mutual strengths, on issues on water, agrotech, cleantech, energy savings, renewable energy and healthcare.
"China is now dealing with issues we dealt with 20, 30, 40 years ago. They are very familiar to us, and we believe we can together develop large-scale solutions."
