WHEN Singaporean designer Hans Tan curated the “R for Repair” exhibition in 2021, he wanted to show that not all broken things had to be thrown away. He invited designers to come up with innovative and quirky ways to repair or turn the item into something new.
The exhibition was a hit, not only with local audiences, but “the overwhelming international response to cover the project was very surprising”, says Tan.
Encouraged by the positive response, he is mounting “R for Repair” again, this time on an international stage at the ongoing London Design Festival.
