Tokyo: Stocks open up on weak yen

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Thursday as a weak yen supported buying sentiment, while Toyota declined after reporting its first profit fall in five years.
The Nikkei 225 index gained 0.22 per cent, or 43.86 points, to 19,943.95 in the first minute of trading, while the Topix index of all first-section issues was up 0.14 per cent, or 2.17 points, to 1,587.36.
