Best of European Cinema
The 27th edition of the European Union Film Festival (EUFF) has a new home at the National Gallery Singapore, where the films are being screened. It marks the first time the EUFF is partnering with a major arts institution here.
"The Gallery provides the important cultural context for the EUFF to grow as the European Union's flagship cultural event in Singapore, especially as we mark the 60th anniversary of the European Union this year."
says Dr Michael Pulch, European Union Ambassador to Singapore. This year's edition celebrates the diversity and pluralism of Europe, reflected in EUFF's selection of 27 feature films that range from dramas to thrillers, and comedies to animation. We recommend Problemski Hotel, a slice-of-life drama based on Belgian novelist Dimitri Verhulst internationally acclaimed book of the same name; and Finland's The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki (pictured), winner of the Un Certain Regard award at the Cannes Film Festival 2016.
