Europe: Stocks rise at open
[LONDON] Europe's main stock markets rose at the open on Thursday, taking their cue from firmer prices in Asia and on Wall Street overnight, traders said.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index added 0.2 per cent to 7,527.99 points, while in the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index added 0.4 per cent to 12,693.84 points and the Paris CAC 40 also rose by 0.4 per cent to 5,360.97 points, compared with the closing level on Wednesday.
Accendo Markets analyst Mike van Dulken said that firm oil prices ahead of the Opec meeting and expectations of another US rate hike next month were also buoying sentiment.
