JLL launches three-year S$2.6m talent development programme

REAL estate consultancy JLL has launched its S$2.6 million Future Skills programme which will run for three years, as part of ongoing efforts to attract, retain and nurture Singapore talent.

The programme will help JLL deepen its local talent pipeline of interns, graduates and apprentices, create employment opportunities for mid-career professionals in adjacent industries and nurture Singaporean employees by equipping them with professional skills.

To set out early career pathways for young talent, the company has designed three programmes for internship, client experience and functional expertise for graduates. This will see JLL partner local tertiary and vocational institutions to offer internship opportunities and entry-level positions to 122 local undergraduates, graduates and technical associates.

For mid-career transitions, JLL aims to retrain local professionals in customer service, technical and engineering roles. Through the reskilling programme, technicians from other sectors can become engineers and facility managers, while guest ambassadors and facilities executives can transition to more senior roles in facilities management.

As for upskilling the local workforce, JLL is investing in initiatives to groom existing local talent. This will be through individual programmes which focus on inclusive leadership, resilience and well-being; innovation and human-centred design; sales and business development; as well as proptech, data and analytics.

JLL Singapore country head Chris Archibold said the company's clients are excited to attract talent from sectors that have been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic - such as those from hospitality, events and aviation.
