Clobbered by Covid-19, Thailand's jobless rate hits record

THAILAND'S official unemployment rate hit a new peak in the first quarter of this year, reaching 2 per cent of the labour force.
Analysts say this level is deemed high in a country where unemployment had remained below the 1 per cent mark for more than a decade until the Covid-19 pandemic struck.
