Pandemic renews focus on digitalisation in supply chain

WITH the Covid-19 pandemic continuing to disrupt global supply chains and forcing a sharp increase in shipping charges, more companies should turn to innovation and digitalisation to help ease the high levels of supply stress.
Speaking at the US-Indonesia Investment Summit, Jesse Hedley, the head of Asia-Pacific procurement and transportation logistics at US food company Cargill, said the disruptions have resulted in a severe shortage of containers and lengthy port delays.
