A Post Office branch in a convenience store near Ascot, UK, on Friday, Jan 12, 2024. Some 980 UK Post Office workers were wrongfully convicted of theft and false accounting between 1999 and 2015. The charges were triggered by faults in a Fujitsu computer system called Horizon, used by UK post offices, that inaccurately reported shortfalls in their accounts, resulting in prosecutions of innocent branch managers for theft.
