CITI has appointed Money K as the global head of GCS (global client service), one of its private banking arm's fastest-growing businesses.

This was announced by Citi's global head of private banking, Ida Liu, in a Dec 16 memo circulated to media on Friday (Dec 17).

In his new role, K will join Citi's global private bank leadership team and will focus on the next phase of growth for GCS. He will work in partnership with the private bank's regional leadership teams as well as its product and control partners.

He succeeds Tim Sullivan, whom Liu thanked for his "tremendous contribution to the success of GCS over his many years of service".

K has more than 20 years of experience at Citi, where he first started out at corporate affairs upon joining in 1999. He subsequently moved to the private banking segment in 2003, taking on senior marketing roles with Asia-Pacific (Apac). Previously, he was in journalism and public relations consulting.

Prior to his latest appointment he had been the Apac head of GCS since 2016.

He was also global head of the next-generation and family business programmes within the private bank's global marketing function since 2007.

"GCS is one of the fastest growing businesses of the private bank, with double digit growth since its inception in 2012... The rapid growth has been fuelled by our clients' increased global presence both for their families and their businesses," wrote Liu.

"Congratulations to Money on his new appointment and we look forward to his leadership to take GCS to the next level."
