SOME 2,000 jobs were created in the fintech sector over the last two years, reflecting a self-sustaining fintech ecosystem that Singapore has created thus far, said Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) managing director Ravi Menon on Wednesday.
Still, this comes as talent remains "the biggest constraint" for developing the fintech segment, said Mr Menon at an evening fireside chat at a fintech event. The MAS is having "very active discussions" with institutes of higher learning to ensure that the curricula are being updated such that graduates would be equipped with "job-ready skills" in the technology space.
