Health insurer Aetna expects double-digit growth in South-east Asia operations
Singapore
RISING affluence in South-east Asia, the region's growing middle class, coupled with regional or global expansion of businesses, will continue to drive demand for health insurance, Aetna International expects, and in turn fuel the double-digit growth the health insurer has experienced in the past few years.
Derek Goldberg, Aetna's managing director for the region, said South-east Asia has been Aetna International's fastest-growing market in the past four years, with membership or customer base surpassing that of Greater China and Europe. It now has the largest membership outside of the United States and the Middle East.
