HSBC Singapore has appointed Alan Ng as its new head of business banking, it announced in a press statement on Monday (May 30).
Ng, who was previously head of global trade and receivables finance at HSBC Vietnam since 2020, will be responsible for HSBC’s specialist coverage division supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
As head of SME banking, Ng will report to the head of commercial banking, HSBC Singapore, Regina Lee.
He takes over from Ng Li Lian, who was in March 2022 appointed to lead a new coverage division supporting internationally-minded mid-sized businesses in Singapore.
HSBC noted that Alan Ng has been with the bank since 2008, serving as head of global trade and receivables finance at HSBC Taiwan from 2017, with over 10 years of experience at various banks prior to joining HSBC.
Lee believes that Alan Ng will enable HSBC to continue to capture more share of the growing SME market, as customers stand to benefit from his decades of experience in Singapore and around South-east Asia.
