HSBC Singapore on Thursday launched its first green deposit account for corporate clients. It will accept the Singdollar and US dollar, providing a simpler way for companies to support environmentally-friendly projects.
Singapore and the UK will be HSBC's first two markets to launch such a product; plans are being lined up to roll it out in other markets this year. Deposits will finance green initiatives such as renewable energy, energy efficiency and biodiversity conservation.
