ING Bank named former Westpac Banking chief executive for Singapore Anand Sachdev as the branch manager of ING Singapore, effective Jun 21, in a Thursday (Jun 16) press release.

The Singapore branch employs approximately 600 employees and is ING’s Asia-Pacific headquarters, the Dutch bank said.

He will succeed Erwin Maspolim, who will take on the role of head of South-east Asia – representative offices, as ING looks to grow their Asia-Pacific operations. Sachdev, who has worked in banking for over 17 years, also served as Westpac’s chief operating officer for Asia since 2017.

Anju Abrol, ING’s Asia-Pacific head of wholesale banking, said: “Anand’s solid experience and track record will strengthen our capabilities and support for our Apac growth strategy.”
