KIM Wong, the Philippine gambling junket operator dubbed the "missing link" in the cyber heist of US$81 million in Bangladesh central bank funds, said he was merely an interpreter while two Chinese nationals facilitated the transfer of the stolen funds to the Philippines.

Mr Wong played the role of an interpreter when one of the men asked the manager of a Rizal Commercial Banking Corp branch to open the accounts where the money eventually ended up, he said at the Tuesday hearing before the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee.
