Markel appoints Singapore energy underwriter
SPECIALIST insurer Markel International (Singapore) on Friday said it has appointed Timothy Foister as energy underwriter based in Singapore.
Mr Foister will report directly to Matthew Cannock, who is the principal officer and managing director of Markel International (Singapore).
Said Mr Cannock said: "It is a very challenging time for the oil and gas industry, and as a key energy service provider to the Singapore market it is very important that we are constantly looking for ways to improve our service to our clients.
"With Tim's expertise in Singapore, working closely with Markel's global energy team in London, we will be able to deliver a more focused product and service to our brokers, cedants and assureds across the Asia-Pacific region."
He added that this key appointment demonstrates the depth of Markel's ongoing commitment to providing leadership for the energy business in Asia.
Prior to his appointment at Markel, Mr Foister was an exploration and production (E&P) underwriter based in Singapore, managing an Asia-Pacific E&P portfolio.
