Razer still 'exploring' Singapore digibank route: CEO
GAMING accessories firm Razer Inc is still "exploring" ways to provide more regulated financial services via its fintech arm, including a digital banking licence in Singapore, said its CEO Tan Min-Liang.
Mr Tan, who was speaking on the panel at the Singapore FinTech Festival and Singapore Week of Innovation and TeCHnology (SFF x SWITCH) conference on Wednesday, said that Razer processes "billions of dollars" yearly - without giving a precise figure - that translate into gaming credits for its users. Mr Tan said Razer has some 80 million global gamers on its platform.
"Given the growth of our business, we've definitely looking at going a little deeper. We're looking to see what additional financial services to provide," he said. Singapore's move to open up to digital banks, is "definitely one of the things that we're exploring at this point of time", he added.
