REUTER Chua has been appointed as the new head of ACCA Singapore, said the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) on Monday.
Mr Chua, who will be based in Singapore and will be part of the ACCA Asia Pacific leadership team, takes over from Leong Soo Yee, who has moved on to the role of director for Asia Pacific.
"I am thrilled to lead the ACCA Singapore team at an exciting period of development in Singapore's accountancy sector as the country strives towards becoming a global accountancy hub by 2020," said Mr Chua, who was previously at Pearson Education Singapore where he helped transformed the business by seeking out new opportunities with digital products, services and channels.
Prior to this, Mr Chua spent a considerable part of his career with the financial services sector where he held senior roles in banks including HSBC and Standard Chartered Bank, and in the FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) sector with stints in Procter & Gamble and L'Oréal.
