Up to US$100b seen in Asia ESG bond issuances

JPMORGAN expects US$90 billion to US$100 billion worth of environmental, social and governance (ESG) bonds in Asia next year, fuelled mainly by Chinese issuers as the country embarks on its ambitious decarbonisation plan.
Asia's ESG US-dollar bond supply is now at a record high, up 189 per cent year on year to US$67.4 billion and accounting for 20 per cent of total bonds supply in the region, fresh data from the bank showed.
