Singapore is no stranger to the idea of “live-work-play” (LWP), but a flurry of interest in mixed-use developments is revving up the concept. The Urban Redevelopment Authority’s (URA) master plan calls for a revitalisation of the Central Area – which includes the central business district (CBD), Marina Bay, Orchard, Bugis and Rochor, and it is working to develop what it dubs “a more polycentric urban structure” with business hubs in other parts of the island.
