PEOPLE in Singapore bought the first BMW 2 Series Active Tourer (2AT) in droves because it was a rare combination of a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) with a Category A certificate of entitlement (COE). The Gran Tourer version's 7-seat format also scored points.
But while the car was a hit, in some ways it didn't quite hit the luxury mark; going from a 7 Series limo to the 2AT and comparing them made this clear. In that sense it felt like a mainstream MPV that just happened to be a BMW.
