1MDB seen walking away from hard-fought project

IN yet another sign of spiralling financial distress, 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) is set to pull out of the multi-billion-ringgit coal-fired power project in Malaysia that it had fought hard to win in June last year.
The Business Times understands that debt-heavy 1MDB is facing difficulty funding its equity portion of some RM2 billion (S$764 million) for the RM11.1 billion Project 3B.
