8Telecom changes independent directors and appoints new non-exec director

Mainboard-listed 8Telecom, which was added to Singapore Exchange's watchlist in early June for failing to meet the revised minimum trading price rule, has had changes in its board for renewal purposes.
Ross Yu Limjoco, 46, who was appointed as an independent director in April this year, resigned with effect from July 7. This was to facilitate board renewal, said 8Telecom in an exchange filing on Sunday.
Similarly, Richard Tan Kheng Swee, 40, also left the same day. He was appointed to the board on June 2 this year.
Liu Yi, 36, and Zhang Yuanyuan, 35, were appointed to the board as independent directors the same day. Mr Liu is also an independent director of JES International Holdings Limited.
Additionally, Wang Zhejun, 31, was appointed as a non-executive director of the company. She is a also substantial shareholder of the company with 25.8 per cent in deemed interest of 8Telecom, through her 50 per cent ownership of Vok Investment Holdings.
