A week of no sales by directors
Heavy buys with major corporate deals in Amara Holdings, ST Engineering, Japfa and Zico; buyback activity sharply lower
DIRECTORS had a bullish week with heavy buys and no sales, according to Singapore Exchange filings in the third week of December. A total of 25 companies recorded 49 purchases worth S$6.76 million. The figures were consistent with the previous week's 26 firms, 50 purchases, and S$6.5 million. Buyback activity fell with 16 companies posting 64 repurchases worth S$64.5 million - sharply down from the previous week's 24 firms, 77 trades, and S$91 million.
There were several significant corporate shareholder acquisitions last week with initial buybacks in Amara Holdings and ST Engineering and first-time purchases by directors in recently listed Japfa Ltd and Zico Holdings. Meanwhile, high-level executives of Ho Bee Land, Nam Cheong Ltd and Low Keng Huat resumed buying following the sharp fall in their companies' share prices.
