Aberdeen shares surge on report that it is seeking buyers

ABERDEEN Asset Management Plc shares rose the most since April 2014 in London trading after a newspaper reported that the company has begun to sound out potential buyers.
The shares rose as much as 7.2 per cent to 376.6 pence and were 4 per cent higher at 365.3 pence at 8.23am on Monday. Shares are down about 15 per cent this year, giving the company a market value of about £4.8 billion (S$10.25 billion).
