Aircon group's disclosure on MD's exit not cool

WONG Leon Keat's cessation as managing director and chief corporate officer were reported by air-conditioning and engineering company Natural Cool on Jan 4 - the day the resignations took effect.

Given how important these positions were, one wonders if Wong was obliged to serve a notice period. If he did, why was the announcement only made the day he was leaving? If he did not, the fact that he was holding such key positions begs another question of why he was not required to.

According to the statement filed on his cessation, the 45-year-old was responsible for the "execution of the company's business strategies and plans". He was also "overseeing financial, administrative, human resource, investor relations, regulatory and compliance functions".
