SINGAPORE Exchange (SGX) recorded its largest number of new bond listings so far this year in April, with 56 issues, up 24 per cent over the same month in 2013.
Listings of floating-rate note bonds on SGX have increased on expectations the US Federal Reserve will continue to unwind its accommodative monetary policy, SGX said yesterday.
Last week at its Federal Open Market Committee meeting, the Fed stuck to its tapering schedule when it cut US$10 billion off its monthly bond purchases, the fourth such cut since December that brings the monthly money printing down to US$45 billion.
