LAST year was a record-busting year for merger and acquisition (M&A) deals in the Asia-Pacific (excluding Japan) - in number of transactions and their total value.
Independent M&A intelligence firm Mergermarket said deal values in the region spiked at US$591.6 billion, surpassing 2013's previous record by 43.4 per cent. Its Global/Regional M&A Trend Report for 2014 counted 3,250 M&A deals.
