ASIA Vets Holdings (AVH) on Wednesday (Jul 5) said its veterinary clinics have temporarily closed due to an “administrative oversight” that resulted in its operational licences not being renewed in time.
“The company did not renew the licences prior to their expiry due to an administrative oversight arising from a change in personnel,” said the Catalist-listed company in a bourse filing. Licences needed to operate the clinics expired on Jun 30.
AVH, which operates AVH Animal Ark in Binjai Park and Tampines, said it has submitted its applications and expects the new licences to be issued within a week from Wednesday, subject to approval from the authorities.
It added that it has implemented several measures to “strengthen its internal control procedures”.
The renewal of key operational licences will be monitored by “key management”, including the chief executive officer, chief financial officer and managing director, besides the operation manager or executive, AVH said.
An “auto-alert” will also be set up on the group’s computer system, it added, and an alert will be sent to those monitoring at least 30 days ahead of the expiry of the licences.

AVH said any change in the group’s contact person for the licences shall be conveyed to the relevant authorities within one week of change, such that they may contact the representative in respect of the licences.
Shares of AVH closed at S$0.056 on Wednesday, up S$0.026 or 86.7 per cent, before the filing.
