Asset management doyen Rothenberg dies at 69

    JAMES F Rothenberg, chairman of one of the world's biggest asset management companies, the Capital Group, died from a heart attack on Tuesday at the age of 69. He was reported to be on vacation on the east coast of the United States at the time.

    One of the leading business figures in the US and a doyen of the global asset management industry, Mr Rothenberg had spent 45 years at the Capital Group, one of the oldest fund management companies, with assets under management totalling around US$1.4 trillion, including the famous American Funds series of mutual funds.
