THE much-anticipated high-profile trial of former BSI banker Yeo Jiawei - which is connected to the probe into 1Malaysia Development Berhad's (1MDB) money trail, Singapore's biggest and most complex international money laundering case - kicks off on Monday.
The trial, scheduled to last nine days until Nov 11 (with a break on Nov 4), is expected to draw extensive public interest in Singapore, and especially in Malaysia - the base of the troubled, state-backed 1MDB - as well as abroad, given the cross-border reach of the financial scandal.
