VOLATILITY lies ahead for Asian financial markets, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) warned on Tuesday, as it urged governments in the region to use the relatively slow pace of US monetary tightening to cushion their economic and financial systems against future shock.
Iwan Azis, who heads the ADB's Office of Regional Economic Integration, said: "A delay in US bond tapering gives the region a little extra time to make sure its economy and financial systems are resilient enough to face likely market volatility ahead."
