CDP investment data now part of SGFinDex; insurance next to be included
SINGAPOREANS can now access data on their investment holdings as part of their consolidated financial positions via participating banks' financial planning applications and free government service MyMoneySense.
This comes about a year after the launch of the Singapore Financial Data Exchange, or SGFinDex, which consolidates Singaporeans' financial information - such as deposits, credit cards, loans, and investments - from participating banks, as well as details like HDB loans and CPF (Central Provident Fund) balances from government agencies. These details can be retrieved using individuals' SingPass.
Now, information on investment holdings at The Central Depository, or CDP, will also be reflected via SGFinDex, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and Smart Nation and Digital Government Group said in a press statement on Monday. CDP is the main custodian for securities listed on the Singapore Exchange and government-issued securities.
Soon, Singaporeans will also be able to retrieve information on insurance policies via SGFinDex as well.
MAS's assistant managing director for capital markets Lim Tuang Lee said the inclusion of CDP data gives Singaporeans a more holistic view of their financial portfolio, and will help them make better financial decisions and retirement plans.
Some 150,000 users have signed up for SGFinDex since its launch on Dec 7 last year, with 290,000 bank accounts linked and 620,000 data retrievals made.
