INTERNET and technology deals in China drove private equity deals in 2016, pushing valuation multiples to record highs. Liquidity from large institutional investors also contributed.
Consultancy Bain & Company's latest Asia-Pacific Private Equity report, released on Thursday, showed that deal value in the region fell to US$92 billion in 2016 from US$124 billion in 2015. But 2016 was still the second best year for deals ever.
