DBS/POSB introduces video teller machines at 9 locations
DBS/POSB Bank has launched its video teller machines (VTMs) at nine locations in Singapore, in a first of its kind here, it said in a press release issued on Tuesday.
The VTMs provide round-the-clock branch banking services to customers, with the option of "face-to-face" assistance from bank tellers via live-video streaming.
Besides providing services such as balance enquiries, change of particulars and statement requests, the VTMs are able to dispense Internet banking security tokens instantly and allows for customers to apply for debit cards and obtain them instantly, it said.
Jeremy Soo, DBS Bank's managing director and head of consumer banking group (Singapore), said: "The introduction of DBS/POSB video teller machines raises the industry bar for banking services in Singapore.
"The VTMs are an example of how we are reimagining banking, using digital technology and innovation to extend our reach, enhance our efficiencies, and create tomorrow's solutions."
