ECB to address by year end whether to extend QE: Constancio
[UTRECHT, Netherlands] The European Central Bank must address by the end of this year whether it will extend or start winding down its 1.74 trillion euro (S$2.65 trillion) asset purchase programme next March, ECB Vice President Vitor Constancio said on Wednesday.
The ECB has said that its asset purchases would run at least until March 2017, or until it sees a sustained upward adjustment of the inflation path.
Mr Constancio added that the Governing Council had not yet discussed what it would do next March.
