AMTD Digital, a subsidiary of Singapore digital bank aspirant AMTD Group, on Thursday announced it has appointed Osman Faiz as its chief information and operating officer.
Mr Faiz has more than 25 years of international banking experience, most recently serving as the chief operating officer of Standard Chartered Bank, Singapore.
Prior to that, he was in a variety of roles at StanChart, including as chief information officer in Singapore and regional head of wholesale banking operations. He was also head of operations at Indonesia's Permata Bank.
He brings to the table global banking and comprehensive enterprise-wide operation experience, and will drive the company's regional banking initiatives and enhance overall operational efficiencies, said Calvin Choi, chairman of Hong Kong financial services firm AMTD Group and Singapore-based AMTD Digital.
Mr Faiz also has expertise in digitalisation, advanced technologies and product innovation, which will enrich the company's digital financial service offerings through its proprietary AMTD SpiderNet ecosystem, Mr Choi added.
AMTD Group is leading a consortium with Singapore utilities provider SP Group, Xiaomi Finance and peer-to-peer lending platform Funding Societies to gun for a digital wholesale banking licence in Singapore.
